Design a couple-friendly bedroom

Design and decorate a bedroom for two

Match bright colours with snaps of colours for a couple-friendly room.

If opposing colour views are stopping your bedroom from becoming a place of peace and quietness, it is good to get back to basics. A light colour pattern is a good starting point for any bedroom, especially one that needs to cater for both male and female styles. Choose cool light-colours like dove grey, taupe and pewter for a crunchy, fresh touch or warm rich like chocolate, sand, beige and tan for a stress-free atmosphere. Paint all the trim white to create a crisp, grounding foundation.

Once you’ve design a gender-unbiased base, choose a couple of stand-out colours in approving colours that you both love. You might choose lemon yellow bed linen to match your crisp grey walls or match your cream interior with a light sky blue feature wall. It’s best to limit the number of bright colours to two or three so the room doesn’t look too visually messy.
